Whale and Dolphin Watching Tour Costa Rica

This tour begins departing from Punta Uvita Beach, you will enjoy the scenic beauty of the coastline of Costa Ballena . While cruising in the boat observe the diversity of shore and pelagic birds nesting and roosting in the Islets of the park. Keep your eyes open for spinner, spotted and bottled nosed dolphins all along the way, these mammals are locals at the Uvita coast.

The park covers an extension of 110 land hectares and 5,375 sea hectares and is named after the humpback whales that migrate from mid July and October, and again in December through March from feeding and mating grounds in the north and south hemispheres to the warm tropical waters of Costa Rica. The objective of Marino Ballena is to conserve the rich marine ecosystems that are found inside the park boundaries. The Marino Ballena National Park forms part of the 1% of Costa Rica’s protected marine territory. Costa Rica is a country which has 11 times more marine territory than land.

There's no site like seeing whales swim gracefully through the water breaking the surface every so often for air. It's a very wild experience being so close to these mammals. Costa Rica is home to the Blue Whales, Pilot Whales, Beaked Whales, Brides Whales, Orcas, Sea Whales and False Killer Whales, along with six species of dolphins.
