Manuel Antonio National Park

This park is located just 7kms south of Downtown Quepos on the Pacific Coast, and only 132 km from San Jose. Perhaps It is so popular because of its expensive Costa Rica White Sand Beaches, backed by an evergreen forest that grows right up to the high tide line. The principal habitants are primary forest, secondary forest, mangrove swamps, lagoons and beach vegetation. There is quite a varied fauna with 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds. The park includes 12 little isles set just off the coast. Among these isles many dolphins congregate and occasionally you can observe the natural migration pattern of whales.

Manuel Antonio National Park voted by Forbes in 2011 as one of the World´s Most Beautiful National Parks is a must-visit while staying with us. The views from the hills overlooking Manuel Antonio are spectacular, the beaches are idyllic, and its jungles are inhabited by a stunning diversity of wildlife, including howler, white-faced, and squirrel monkeys, two and three toed sloths, vibrantly colored frogs, songbirds, and much more. As well, you´ll experience the park´s large variety of different ecosystems, which include fresh water lagoons, mangroves, beaches, coral reefs, littoral islands, rocky cliffs, herbaceous swamps and more. Endemic to the area is a species of primate, the red-backed squirrel monkey, only found on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. An easy-to-navigate system of walking trails offers you the chance to experience the natural world up-close with extraordinary views.

When visiting the park you will be treated with an abundance of diverse wildlife. Also you will get to encounter the natural wonder of Cathedral Point. Cathedral Point at one time was a island with forest topped cliffs, but is now connected to the coast by a thin strip of islands. This land bridge now forms the spine that separates the parks two most popular beaches, Playa Espadilla Sur and Playa Manuel Antonio. The southern facing beach, Playa Manuel Antonio, is a picturesque half mile long, containing eloquent white sand. Just thinking about your feet buried in the warm, white sand while watching the waves crash against the rocks on either side of the lagoon is enough to convince yourself that you are thousands of miles away from any worry in the world. Make your dreams come true with a Trip to Manuel Antonio National Park.
