Day 1 — Monteverde
A warm and sunny welcome to Costa Rica! Your flight arrives at Juan Santamaría International Airport. After passing through immigration and customs, you will meet one of our local representatives and begin your journey to Monteverde.
Day 2 — Monteverde
Enjoy a guided tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest. This tour is an exploration of the beauty of one of the rarest forests in the world, the cloud forest.
The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve was established in 1972 and initially covered some 810 acres (328 ha) of forested land. The Monteverde Cloud Forest reserve currently protects over 35,089 acres (14,200 ha) and encompasses eight life zones atop the Continental Divide. There are over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, and 1,200 species of amphibians and reptiles living within its bounds. It’s one of the few remaining habitats that support all six species of the cat family – jaguars, ocelots, pumas, oncillas, margays, and jaguarundis – as well as the endangered three-wattled bellbird and resplendent quetzal. Over 8 miles (13 km) of trails are available for you to explore with your professional guide, your guide will provide education of the different wild life and flora and fauna along your journey.
Day 3 — Jaco
Today we will be travelling along the Pacific coast to Jaco Beach.
Day 4 — Jaco
Today we will be exploring with a professional guide The Carara National Park. Named after the Huetar word for Crocodile this National Park borders the Tarcoles River – most well-known for the large population of American Crocodiles.
Carara National Park is located in a very important ecological transition zone. Bordering the Pan-American Highway, this park is unique as the Amazonian and Mesoamerican ecosystems converge to form a distinct biological reserve. Here the climates of the Pacific dry meet the humid south coast.
Visiting Carara is a bird-watchers’ heaven as Scarlet Macaws nest and feed throughout the reserve. There are also 400 species of birds that live in Carara such as toucans, herons, trogons, and Jacamars. Due to the combination of ecosystems, Carara features less dense forests making it easy to spot wildlife.
Day 5 — Jaco
Today you will be able to enjoy a free day to shop for souvenirs or explore local beaches and restaurants. We have several optional tours from Jaco such as ATV & Zip lining, Sailing Catamaran, or waterfall excursions.
Day 6 — Manuel Antonio
Travelling down the coast to the beautiful and enchanting Manuel Antonio.
Day 7 — Manuel Antonio
Start your day with an expert guide pointing out the wonders of Manuel Antonio National Park. Here you will spot white faced Capuchin monkey, red back squirrel monkey and howler monkeys, sloths, coatis, and agoutis. The relaxed walk through the park lasts around 2.5-3 hours. As well as spotting the large number of wildlife, you will also learn about the history of this stunning part of Costa Rica.
