Arenal is located in the town of La Fortuna, home to possibly the most notorious volcano in Costa Rica. Arenal Volcano was the most active volcano in Costa Rica up until 2010, perfectly coned shaped, a view you will never forget.
Begin the day bright and early as we depart for the Cano Negro boat tour. This tour departs only 4 km from the border of Nicaragua (about a 1.5-hour ride from Arenal, make sure to bring your passports!). The Cano Negro is a river that acts as a wintering site for migrant American bird species. Some species stay all year including Black Bellied Whistling Duck, Black-necked Stilt, Anhinga, Snail kite and the Green Backed Heron. An area of enormous biodiversity and richness. This is the perfect tour for bird watchers and nature lovers.
