Arenal Volcano Costa Rica and Hot Springs

A part of Costa Rica volcanoes, Arenal Lay dormant until July 29 in 1968, when an earthquake shook the area, and 12 ours later Arenal blew. If you have never seen an active volcano; Arenal makes for a spectacular first. This 1633m volcano rises majestically out of the lush pastures and forest on the eastern end of Lake Arenal. Intermittent explosions draw people by day and night, although nigth is the best time to observe red-hot molten lava enveloping the top of the cone.

Even when overcast, the rumblings, ventings and molten lava glowing through the clouds offer a very special experience.
