View the serene cone of the active Arenal Volcano, a Costa Rican national park, and then relax at a resort where thermal pools are warmed by the volcanic activity. Board your air-conditioned transportation and drive through the rich farmland and coffee plantations of the Central Valley en route to the historic town of San Ramon, which is home to many of Costa Rica's former presidents. A stop will be made at El Jardin, where you can stretch your legs and also have the opportunity to see how the cigars are rolled. Ride through picturesque roads and towns towards the plains of San Carlos. From a short distance you can see the highly active Arenal Volcano, an impressive site not only for its constant activity, but for its imposing perfect cone and the exuberant vegetation in the surrounding areas. Continue your scenic drive to the Hot Springs. The resort features 12 different pools whose waters are warmed by the volcano. Enjoy ample time to relax in the soothing pools or stroll the landscaped grounds while enjoying views of the surrounding rainforest. The property is crossed by a hot-water river, where natural ponds have been adjusted for your enjoyment and the most relaxing natural massage as you sit under a tumbling, hot waterfall and feel the relaxing pressure of the water. Lunch will be served at the main restaurant, overlooking the volcano. SPECIAL NOTES Occasionally Arenal Volcano is partially obscured by clouds. Bring a swimsuit and a towel.
